  • Date 29May to 4 June 2026
  • Role: Participating Artist/ Awarded Artist
  • Place: Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, Tokyo, Japan

I am truly delighted and deeply honored to receive a Merit Award at the 19th Tokyo 2026 International Art Grand Prize Exhibition, held at the prestigious Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum.

This international exhibition brought together artists and art enthusiasts from 18 countries and regions, creating a vibrant and inspiring platform for artistic expression, cultural exchange and creative dialogue. The exhibition showcased a wide range of works from both professional artists and amateur art lovers, highlighting the diversity, inclusiveness and evolving nature of the contemporary art community.

According to the organizers, the judging process was conducted under a strict anonymous system to ensure fairness and impartiality. Each artwork was carefully evaluated based on artistic language, creativity, expressiveness and overall impact. This transparent approach adds even greater meaning to the recognition received.

Although I was unable to attend the exhibition in person, I am sincerely grateful that fellow artists from the Women Artists Association (WAA) were present at the event.

They kindly shared their experiences, photographs and observations, allowing me to feel connected to the atmosphere of the exhibition. Through their eyes, I was able to witness the coming together of artists from diverse backgrounds, united by a shared passion for art.

Receiving this Merit Award is an encouraging milestone in my artistic journey. Each exhibition is not only a platform to present artwork, but also an opportunity to learn from fellow artists, exchange ideas and appreciate the many ways art can connect people across cultures and borders.

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the organizers, judges, fellow artists and supporters who made this international art exchange possible. I am truly grateful for this recognition and look forward to continuing my creative journey—exploring new ideas, challenging myself and sharing my work with audiences around the world.

Art has the power to transcend language, geography and culture. I am honored to be part of this global artistic community and I look forward to many more opportunities for learning, growth and meaningful connection.
