I recently had the chance to volunteer as an ad hoc artist helper with the Singapore Red Cross for their meaningful event, Wings of Art, held at KADA from 22 to 24 April 2025. It was a creative and heartwarming experience that combined art, sustainability, and community spirit.

Crafting with Purpose
As part of the event prep, we joined a group of passionate volunteers to help craft beautiful paper flowers and create upcycled glass art sculptures. It was inspiring to see how recycled materials could be transformed into something vibrant and full of life. Every flower and sculpture symbolized hope, care, and support for those in need.
The process was hands-on and joyful , folding, gluing, arranging, and laughing with fellow volunteers. What started as a simple activity quickly became a meaningful act of service. Knowing our contributions would be part of an exhibition that supports the Red Cross mission made it even more fulfilling.
Wings of Art: A Celebration of Compassion
The Wings of Art event showcased these crafted works alongside inspiring stories and performances, all aimed at raising awareness and encouraging the community to embrace the healing and unifying power of art. It was a celebration of how art can lift spirits and bring people together, just like wings.
A Grateful Heart
Volunteering reminded me how small acts of creativity can make a big impact. I’m grateful to the Singapore Red Cross for the opportunity to be involved in such a beautiful cause.
If you ever get the chance to lend your time or talent to a similar event, I highly encourage it. You’ll walk away with more than just memories, you’ll feel part of something much bigger.
