In January 2025, I had the privilege of participating in the “Share a Bowl of Rice” Charity Art Exhibition at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. This meaningful event brought together artists, art lovers, and the community to support a noble cause—raising funds for patients in need.
Art for a Purpose
The theme “Share: A Bowl of Rice” symbolized the spirit of compassion and generosity, reflecting the idea that small acts of kindness can make a big impact. Through art, we aimed to convey warmth, empathy, and hope to those facing health challenges. (Ref: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/168QEMJzfz/ )
A Gathering of Artists and Supporters
Artists from diverse backgrounds contributed their works, each piece carrying a unique story and heartfelt message. The exhibition featured a variety of artistic expressions, from watercolor and oil paintings to mixed media and calligraphy, creating a vibrant and inspiring atmosphere.
My Contribution
I participated with two paintings in this exhibition. One was from my food series, capturing the beauty of shared meals and the emotions tied to them. The second piece was an expressionist painting of a woman in deep thought, reflecting introspection and emotion. It was a rewarding experience to see viewers connect with both artworks in different ways.
An Evening of Reflection and Gratitude
The exhibition’s opening day was filled with meaningful conversations, emotional moments, and a shared sense of purpose. Hospital representatives, sponsors, and guests came together to celebrate the power of art in bringing positive change.
A Lasting Impact
This event was more than just an exhibition, it was a reminder of how art can connect people and inspire acts of kindness. I feel honored to have been part of this initiative and look forward to contributing to more meaningful causes through my art.
Final Thoughts
The “Share: A Bowl of Rice” Charity Art Exhibition was a heartwarming experience, reminding us that even in difficult times, we can come together to support those in need. Art has the power to heal, to unite, and to give hope, and that is truly special.
